How to Steal Like an Artist ... and 9 other things nobody told me ...
This is a wonderful blog that talks about things that everyone (not just artists) should consider when thinking about the work they do within their lives.
BEYONDtherapy

Health Rhythms was first brought to me during a Tap class of mine a few weeks ago. I have recently learned that there will be many more sessions offered until the end of the semester. The joy that this brings me is almost indescribable.
Health Rhythms was originally designed as a way not only to artistically express oneself, but more so, as a way to heal. This wonderful musical protocol has proven to move and emote what most might think as the average ‘music therapy’. Research studies have shown time and again the importance of the minds connection with the body, this we know. However, beginning with a single heartbeat of the drum, this musically generated way to heal has shown that with just one hour of group sessions, Health Rhythms has had positive aspects of both the mind and body. This connection in turn has helped to transform social dilemmas, medical issues, managing stress, abused youths, educational aspects…Health Rhythms has inspired many with hope as well as a positive outlook that moves beyond just ‘therapy’ but rather, fosters a community of grateful individuals with a drive to share life with others around.
Rehearsal
“To be ‘louder’ does not necessarily mean in volume, but rather with a deeper meaning to share.”

‘This will be the best drawing, Like the first one, only better. If I’m not careful I’ll lose control of my movements, but I won’t, because I know. I know’ - (this saying is then repeated many times).’
Your breath is you, use your breath to express and free from within…

I only have one month left with my girls…I’m going to miss them more than I think I realize at the moment. It’s hard to leave students that I’ve been watching grow and learn for the past five years…
“In teaching you cannot see the fruit of a day’s work. It is invisible and remains so, maybe for twenty years.” ~Jacques Barzun
